Concentrating on the still life genre of rhopography (the depiction of objects considered unimportant, ordinary or overlooked), Donna Page seeks to elevate viewers’ awareness of the trivial object. She applies photo realism to organic objects by detailing them in pastel, gouache, watercolor, acrylic, and water-soluble oils. “I constantly experiment with the theories of color and light and the creation of luminous and iridescent effects,” Page says.
