Jim Richey grew up in western Oklahoma where his interest in photography first blossomed in the high school photo club. He has been hooked on photography ever since. After graduating from Northwestern Oklahoma State University Jim joined Conoco and spent 27 years with the company, retiring in 1996. In parallel with his Conoco career Jim did commercial illustration work, graphics design, photography and illustrated and edited the Methods of Work column for Fine Woodworking Magazine.
