Louie Bergsagel has been taking pictures ever since his dad gave him an old Kodak split-image viewfinder 35mm camera when he was about 12. With little money available for film, he didn't take hundreds of pictures until college, in a photo journalism class at the University of Washington. Though the pictures were all black and white, the excitement of seeing a valuable scene, and capturing it on film was almost as fun as playing football.
