Since the age of 5, Paul Makuchal has always had a desire to draw and paint the natural world around him. Self-taught as an artist, his attention to color, contrast and detail of his subjects have allowed him to gain both regional and national recognition for his artwork. In 1994 he placed third in the Federal Junior Duck Stamp Contest representing his home state of Maryland in the nationwide competition.
