Ruth Gee grew up in the Andean Mountains among the Inca Indians of Bolivia, South America in a missionary family and was home schooled in English while speaking Spanish. Her first art class was as a Jr. in High School when moving back to Minnesota, though she confesses to having illustrated her crib and any blank surface she could find while growing up.
