Sam Fenwick descends from a rich heritage of Hawaiian watermen, including world class fishermen and surfers. Raised on the reef on the West side of O'ahu, he spent his youth, surfing, fishing, and free diving. He worked for a decade as a lifeguard on O'ahu and the Big Island before delving into carpentry, then discovering the art of Gyotaku.
