Far before and long after I graduated from the Moscow Institute of Architecture with the Ph.D in Architecture in 1985, my graphic works have represented both the space occupied by existing buildings and the space to be filled by the ideas in my mind. It is not uncommon in architecture that spaces are drafted on paper before becoming a construction site. In such cases where the project does not live to see the construction site, this 'paper architecture' immortalizes on a flat page the three-dimensional space the time could never build.
