My favorite part of Colorado is the southwestern corner, especially around Creede. For many years, my family has camped near the Rio Grande Reservoir in the 30-Mile Campground. It's a beautiful spot, right in the heart of some of Colorado's wildest country and you'll have many opportunities to see various species of wildlife including deer, elk, bear, and of course, squirrels!

One early morning, I stepped out with my camera and saw this little guy scurrying around. I was fortunate to have a nice long telephoto lens on the camera and even luckier that he sat still long enough for me to snap this shot. I guess his curiosity got the better of him - - or maybe he was just hoping for a snack! :-)
