As we left Oregon and started down the coast toward Sacramento, my wife said instead of going on down the coast to the big red wood trees lets go inland and go to Mt. Shasta, trees are just trees but the mountains are special. I had never heard much about Mt. Shasta although it's almost as tall as Mt. Rainier at 14,000 + feet, it's very photogenic because it stands almost alone rising above the terrain all around. We finally located for the night in a little town called "Weed" . The next morning I got up as usual before daylight ,but Kay she was to tired to go with me, so I headed out alone to explore the area around the mountain. The Town of Mt. Shasta lies at the foot of the mountain and along Lake Siskiyou make for some great photography. This area is soon to be discovered,as it is listed as one of the ten top places to visit in 2015.
