We are celebrating Laurel Adams’ birthday this month! Many of you are friends and followers of hers and so are very familiar with her references to her art created from “the flow”, and how things appear in “Laurelland”, including her wonderful tangles! So this contest is to challenge YOU to enter your best art that comes from YOUR “flow” - what have you created that started out to be very different in your mind? What image just appeared to you in your subconscious and nagged you until you created it? What’s your favorite piece that just sort of “happened”?
VIVA Anderson and I are collaborating on this contest and an invitation to visit Laurel’s portfolio and wish her a happy birthday, comment, like, fave as many of her paintings as you wish. We’re providing 10 days for submissions so that if you want to create something to honor Laurel in real time, you should be able to do that - a tangle, a stream-of-consciousness piece of art from your heart. Or, I know that you, like me, have art in your portfolio that literally happened through “the flow”, so share it with all of us.
And, feel free to share your favorite “flow” story in the discussions tab! It’s fun to see why people have entered certain things - helps us to know each other a little better.
BTW, the contest logo is Laurel's favorite piece, 'My Darshan', used with permission (she didn't know it was a contest FOR her!).
1. Enter up to 4 images, color or black and white.
2. Any medium is welcome
3. No nudes or violence or dead animals, please - keep it family friendly.
4. FAA member voting, unlimited votes - vote for your own to salute the value of your own work and please vote for at least one other artist, and spend a few minutes to comment/L/F on their work. The uplift of the recognition from a fellow artist is sometimes a bright spot in dreary times.
5. Just for fun, but I will share/feature the 1st place winner (or more if a tie) on Twitter, FB, and Pinterest with permission.
