Admit It... Some Members Never Reciprocate

Posted by: Mukul Dhankhar on 06/10/2013 - 7:44 AM

i'm out of votes.... means i voted for 100 pictures
and i've a total of only 52 votes on my 3 pictures...(only half, strange)
can't even know the names who didn't return the favour
don't u think it's unfair with a member like me
i think it's not only with me... there are other members too who are facing this problem
i voted honestly.... i returned the favour of every member who voted my clicks
i don't want 250 votes... even my pics don't deserve 250 votes..... i'm not so experienced....but
i just want a total of 100 votes on my pictures

please be honest with others too
sorry for my words but m not here to spoil the fun
thank you

I voted on all three of your pics Mukul, I don't really mind that you can't vote for me. I think it's childish to be so disingenous over a contest that still requires a panel of judges to select the pic in the long run. I see this as mainly a way for them to garner more publicity. *shrug* anyway...good luck to you in your photography endeavors.

The jist is, to vote for an image if you feel it is (in your opinion) an outstanding image.
After all this is for a TV commercial.
That is what the contest is about, yes?
So, don't take offense. They may have just decided that a little more practice would be of benefit.
I'm in the same boat....and the first one to say that I need improvement.
Maybe it's an underlying critique.....a message to say.....we're not ready yet.

I would look at it from a positive position and understand that maybe they are not being ignorant, just picky.

That's how I'm going to look at it anyway.......

P.S. You are way ahead of me in votes :)

yes.... you both are right
i know where i stand in many of experienced photographers here..... i too need improvement
but point is that
they say..."i'll return the favour", "i'll reciprocate", "vote for vote"
these lines should be avoided if they are not doing it that way
just say simply,"i'll vote for the best one" (this is the best line, what's wrong with that)
my query is not about taking votes.... my query is about the way of taking votes

I hope you will join the FAA250 group to get your votes and also enter the contest to showcase your TV entries!!

250 TV images - an FAA group CONTEST:

read the info here to get the rest of your votes:

At the above link, with a little time and effort, you can trade way above the vote needed as a cushion for those who retract their vote or do not reciprocate.

Sorry Mukul that you are having a bad experience. I've cast more votes than received, but it appears to have been only a few people who haven't reciprocated. My FB friends have definitely been more reliable in the vote department. I still have a vote in for you, so don't sell your photography short. Art is so subjective anyway. It just depends on what the panel is looking for. CJ Rider is right. You should check out the FAA250 Group for suggestions on how to get there. Some other photographers on the site have helped me get there from this discussion site and the group. You just need to be willing to put in some more work to make it happen. The first phase of the competition is less about talent and more about who is willing to get their photos out there. Not sure if I agree with that, but it is just the way it is.

I am glad to say I have voted for yours and returned the vote on my image,I did have 3 but really only promoted one, sadly some people just think of them self and then i noticed I was 3 votes short then the previous day, meaning someone has decided to retract there vote, sadly they never mentioned this ! as quick as they wanted.

I checked out FAA250 but it hasn't made much different to my votes, I wonder if I have done it right, ? maybe some guidance is needed. Im on everyday to try and promote

I wish you look on your images

Mukul and Brendan,

Try networking through FB, but not so much that you annoy your friends :). One thing that helped was putting up my photos on my school alumni facebook pages/groups and nonprofessional groups which have lots of members and I was able to have some of my old schoolmates and acquaintances help me out. When I was close to hitting to 250, I posted again to my friends on my timeline and the excitement of me almost making it to the second round, got them to vote :)

You guys can do this!

I agree, but what comes around goes around, hang in'll be reciprocated in some other way by others...
Remember, artists are human beings and as such they are prone to do things like this or behave in an unethical manner.
But in the long run, one would ask, is it really worth it? Honesty is always the best policy.

Using the info at the get 250 Comrades group is the easiest way to get the votes without all the issues spoken about in this discussion:

Check out the rest of the tabs in the group and participate in the discussions, features, contest and more.
I hope the info at the group helps.
Good Luck everyone!
