Photographs of The Great Western Sugar Factory, Longmont, Colorado
Photographer Mark Ivins has recorded one of Longmonts most visible structures – the vacant Great Western Sugar factory on the east side of Longmont.
Sitting empty since 1977, the forces of decay have been at work, but the photographs also show the grace and dignity of this desolate structure.
Ivins large-format black and white photographs are exhibited in the Portal Gallery.
This project is funded in part by Boulder County Arts Alliance through the BCAA/Neodata Endowment Grant Program.
