New Mexico State Fair Fine Art
Three of my pieces (Purple Hyacinths, Support, and Perplexity) were recently selected by the judges to be exhibited in the 2013 New Mexico State Fair Fine Art Exhibit, which runs during the fair from September 11-22. This is the NM State Fair\\\'s 75th year! The opening night, or Evening of The Arts will be held September 10, 2013.
This was my first time entering, and my only goal was to enter one new piece, but I was able to complete three so I entered them. It was with great surprise that I received the postcard showing that all three had been chosen, and I am very pleased with the completion of this goal. My other fine art goals for this year were to create a webpage, and well, you\\\'re looking at it, and finally my other goal is to complete 12 new pieces this year. Currently I\\\'m working on number eight, and have number nine started.
I have my husband Lenny to thank for his unending support, my teacher of art and other life lessons, Ricardo Chavez-Mendez, and all my friends and family who continue to inspire and support me to use this gift I have been given. I also feel most grateful to my parents for teaching me work ethic as well as persistence, and my sister Darlene who says she is my biggest fan, and I believe her.
Come see the art at the NM State Fair if you are in the Albuquerque area!
