Subject Elements & composition techniques – A well designed composition accommodates the intended subject. To design such a composition can involve many elements. Among those elements are the numerous composition techniques that lay the framework for the composition. Another set of elements that can contribute to the formation of the composition are subject elements. These elements can often be common objects such as natural lighting, shadows, color, shapes, textures, and many other potential objects that are in the vicinity of the subject. In this class we will examine compositional techniques and how subject elements , when used in conjunction with those techniques, can help to highlight the subject.
