VENICE CARNIVAL 2013 - Street Art event for children and families

CARNIVAL OF VANISHED COLORS

Campo San Giacomo dell’Orio
From 13th to 19th February 2012

CRaZy INviTAtiOn!

Carnival is not just to show a fancy dress to everyone. It’s the festival of colors and also a state of mind which gives you a strong feeling.

These days Venice wakes up from the cold winter with smiles and chatter. In several places you can find shows, live music, theatre, tales and games for children. Why do we have to wait for Carnival to discover that Venice is still alive?

There are many other things to do in the city than to buy cheap masks produced and painted in China, to rent and show recycled Carnival dresses in San Marco’s square, to have a street make-up as fast as a take-away pizza, to look for sales of the last season always at lower prices. And you will find everywhere, again and again (even for breakfast) the typical Carnival sweets. Well… but maybe this is another story. In any case, to find the right balance depends only on us.

Finally… February! All we are ready for Carnival, all we get crazy with a broken heart and a smile on the face but, the truth is: the Venetians struggle to move forward. This dual reality has shocked me since I arrived here. Indeed, in the last years I also experienced it on myself.

This Crazy Festival of Fools has motivated me to follow the rule of doing something different and I decided to try by myself. After filling out a lot of surrealistic documents, finally, I’m officially authorized to go forward with my craziness: I’m free to do small open-air events to show my artwork.

This year, for the first time, my pictures will go beyond the paper stage to become fashion designs. My idea is not to do other Venetian souvenirs (there exist already a lot!) but, to show my creative ideas for telling the story of the stranded people who live in this magic city sleeping on water thoughts…

Nacasona initiates a new fashion line to present an alternative style of clothes in an elegant and original design. This, indeed, is the spirit of my Art: to go beyond everyday life looking to discover the beauty of details.

There will be interesting things for all the family: bags, T-shirts, ties… and a surprise to wake up the creativity of the kids!!

The first designs are printed in a limited edition. So, take your favorite one before it’s away!

Come and discover my colors of Carnival!

Crazy greetings,
Noemí Carrau.
