Since time immemorial Flowers have been a source joy and beauty. Their fragrances can be used to make heavenly perfumes. Flowers color the world with their beautiful hues. Flowers have been such a significant part of human history and evolution that significant meanings are attached to flowers - and a the language of flowers, called floriography, was formulated.
Assigning hidden meanings to flowers and using these as symbols to express feelings and sending messages is an ancient tradition. Almost every ancient culture developed a language of flowers - Cleopatra would shower Marcus Antonius with rose petals to express her love. During the 17th century B.C. The flower language developed by the Turks spread and gained popularity across Europe.
