This painting makes me happy!! The colors are really fun and, like his other pieces I own, expertly painted. I want to live in this cottage and walk into the ocean. Ordered it on canvas - well executed. Thank you for the smiles!

I was once asked why I produced my series of drawings which I entitled “ Western Cycloptics “. These were created in the early seventies at a time when I was teaching in the faculty of Fine Arts at The University of Toronto. Initially they were just fun doodles which became more involved as they progressed. I had seen the movie Soylent Green and I had also read the statistics published by The Guinness Book of World Records on the population of the world. In 1804 there were an estimated 1 billion people. At the time when I started this series the earth population was between 3.7 and 4 billion. Currently the population growth stands at 7 billion and by the year 2083 the estimate runs at a staggering 10 billion. My drawings depict a boy and a girl Western Cyclop wearing ten gallon hats. The story goes: boy meets girl, falls in love and happily, with reckless abandon, creates more who in their turn will do the same ad infinitum. As will be seen with the last drawing the few had become too many and I simply ran out of space on my paper. I rest my case.
