This looks gorgeous printed on wood. It is now hanging on my therapy office wall and is perfect. The color is true to the photo. I love it.

Very pleased with the image, color, printing . My selection of printing onto wood is great for this image. There are a few mildly dark lines which are natural to wood. They show through the image and contribute to the image--glad that none of these was over the face of the horse rider.

Artist's Description

Diamond mining, South Africa, 1872. In 1866 a diamond was found near Hopetown, Northern Cape Province, and in 1869 a larger diamond, known as the Star of Africa, was found and initiated the South African Diamond Rush. Prospectors arrived from all over the world and diamond digging began in several areas. Exploitation of black workers by white prospectors was common. The largest area of excavation, seen here, became the Kimberley Mine, later nicknamed The Big Hole . Ropes for winching buckets of material run between deep trenches. Kimberley Mine was located on farmland which was owned by the De Beers brothers, who gave their name to the company which later came to dominate the diamond industry.
