I bought this in the greeting card form. I have been purchasing cards from Fine Art America for two or three years. Covid might have been some of the reason for looking for cards on the internet. Shops were closed. The main reason I buy cards from FAA is because I got tired of looking for cards at the usual card shops. I could find cards (sometimes) that looked good on the outside but the verses were terrible or it was the other way around...terrible on the outside but maybe a decent verse inside. I pick cards from FAA that fit with the occasion. I figure I can write something on the inside as good as any card company could. I wouldn't buy these cards if I didn't think they were wonderful. The cards are beautiful and excellent quality and the envelopes are equality as good. I am glad I can make a copy of what I've bought so I can keep track of who gets what card. I don't want to send the same card to someone twice. In this case, the card is going to someone for Mother's Day.

First of all: whilst being a Student, I offered this painting to a prestigious Gallery in the Capital of Bulgaria. And guess what: it was rejected categorically! That act left long standing scars in my soul as a young and dreaming man, believing in Good and Positive Basics!
Created in-between 1989-1991 this painting marks the rise of a genius! Once a slave of realistic landscapes, then experimenting with different modern styles, here Ivan Shikerov has finally found his unique expression and abstract presence. Combining the fractured pieces with artistic virtuosity he gave a go and started flying in his dreams and visions. He was no longer worrying about censors, politics, pseudo-friends, art traditions and so on
Look at the painting and you are going to feel it as a music flying around! There is no up, down, right and left
no front and back! The space is broken in diagonal bearings. A dominant line here is the free flight!

Ivan Shikerov (1928 - 1999) was a modern Bulgarian artist. He made his oil paintings in the second half of 20th Century. He was a remarkable person. The memories of him will be forever with those, who had a chance to meet him. He now is on Heaven, however his Legacy, his Art is with us. The time has come: all works of Ivan Shikerov need to be published. Thus everyone would have a chance to appreciate their aesthetic value. In short time the art historians will introduce the Artist in their books. It is a recognition, which Ivan Shikerov fully deserves. Generally, there have been three creative periods in the evolution of the Artist. Till 1970 his style was shaping: he was studying the modern European art, the Renaissance and also...
