Very pleased! the product and service was distinction plus. I am wanting another mono image of Jane standing, looking down holding the hand of the monkey, it wasn't on your selection of images.

Dear Troy, My husband and I, received your amazing artwork entitled "What Is He Dreaming?". Wow! Such a treat . Such memories. It sent us both back years and years when we first saw your art, on of all things, a calendar. We've been on the hunt for "What Is He Dreaming?" ever since. The art and sentiments struck true for us years ago, and still do today. Steve and I have been a couple for over 27 years. Legally, since March 22, 2014. Yes, that's before the Windsor decision. But we were able to marry during the 18 hours it was legal before the establishment knocked it down. Cherished, but tarnished memories, indeed. Well, time has passed, but Steve and my love for each other has not. We'd like to thank you for the reassurance of our love this evening when we received your artwork. Steve and I have placed it over our bed together. It will always be a source of inspiration and love for us. We both want to thank you for your commitment to your art and vision. It means so very much to us. More than you'll ever really know Troy. Kindly, Rob & Steve

I was super happy to be able to purchase this very appropos print for my daughter. I surprised her and had it shipped directly to her home. She was thrilled! I have not been to her house to see it yet or have any photos of it on her wall but wanted to let you know I was pleased with purchase, process and on- time delivery. Thank you!

Artist's Description

Early humans making fire. Coloured artwork of two methods of making fire being used by early humans. The first method (left) involves rotating the pointed end of a stick in a dry piece of wood. The other method (right) involves rubbing two pieces of dry wood together. There is evidence for the controlled use of fire over one million years ago. Such use of fire allowed humans to keep warm, cook food, and scare away predators, as well as allowing new technologies such as metal-working. Original artwork published in Primitive Man (Louis Figuier, 1870).

About Sheila Terry

Science Photo Library was founded in 1981 by Michael Marten, one of the authors of "Worlds Within Worlds", a book exploring different ways to observe the universe - from electron micrographs, to images of earthrise taken from the Apollo spacecraft. When Marten started receiving requests for the beautiful images in the book, he had an idea of setting up Science Photo Library. Since then, Science Photo Library has continued to work alongside world acclaimed photographers and the leading science and medical experts to provide a central source of the best science and specialist imagery available. Although the collection started with scientific images, it has grown to encompass all aspects of science and their impact on everyday life.
