Love it. It was a gift...very personal to me and the person receive it

I have purchased 3 framed prints through Fine Art America and have been very pleased with the quality of all 3. This is the first time I've purchased a product where the picture has been reproduced on wood rather than paper. Perhaps I should have known, but the colours and vividness of reproduction on wood do not compare favorably to those on paper (or canvas). To me, the end product looks washed out. The overall quality of the product is otherwise good, but I wish I'd ordered a framed print instead.

This was actually much nicer than I expected it to be. The product is beautiful, the colors are beautiful and it looks hand painted. It was also packed very well to ensure no damage in shipment. This was a gift so I don’t have pictures but the recipient was overjoyed.

This was a present for my Niece. My sister had a similar print and wanted to be like her mommy. She was ecstatic opening it on Christmas!

Artist's Description

The Hell Gate Bridge (originally the New York Connecting Railroad Bridge or The East River Arch Bridge) is a 1,017-foot steel through arch railroad bridge between Astoria in the borough of Queens, Randall's/Wards Island, and The Bronx in New York City, over a portion of the East River known as Hell Gate. The Hell Gate Bridge runs parallel to the Queens span of the RFK-Triborough Bridge, which connects Queens, the Bronx, and Manhattan, and drivers can see the length of the bridge east of the roadway. This bridge was the inspiration for the design of Sydney Harbour Bridge in Australia, which is about 60 percent bigger. The engineering was so precise that when the last section of the main span was lifted into place, the final adjustment needed to join everything together was 1/2 inch. Construction of the Hell Gate Bridge began on March 1, 1912 and ended on September 30, 1916. It was the world's longest steel arch bridge until the Bayonne Bridge was opened in 1931, and was surpassed agai...
