Artist's Description
Model of a typical plant cell. In the upper left is the nucleus (blue), inside of which is the nucleolus surrounded by chromatin fibres (purple). Surrounding the nucleus is rough endoplasmic reticulum (red), with smooth endoplastic reticulum at upper right (yellow spots). Next to this is the Golgi complex (yellow). At lower right is the vacuole (blue). Also present are mitochondria (red, peanut-shaped) and peroxisomes (yellow spheres). At the top and bottom are three chloroplasts (green).
