Description
We watched the movie "Don't look back now" from 1973, which plays mainly in Venice. The movie is very dark, gloomy and shows a Venice, which is rotten, dark, empty - and a mysterious murder is sneaking through the city. This frightening image is in full contrast to those, we got during our visit last year. Our painting now is more orientating on the positive views of venice and it features one of the most famous views, the view to San Giorgio Maggiore, a church and former monastery on the small island across the San Marco Bacino. This place has seen a lot of history, even a Papal conclave, electing Pius VII as Pope of the catholic church. In the foreground you can see a gondola, the famous boat from Venice, which is steered and propelled by the Gondolier.
But now, enjoy our new painting.
