I love my Buddha print, this is not my first purchase from Fine Art, have several pieces and love every one. They come packed well, days within ordering. Plan on ordering more. Highly recommend Fine Art.

I would like to change the portrait size to 40” instead of 48” width

This piece is absolutely beautiful, and Fine Art America delivered great service. High quality reproduction and framing, shipped quickly and safely, and fully met my expectations. I love Linda Woods art. Check out her portfolio.

I thought it would illuminate under a blacklight but I still like it. Description could be improved.

Artist's Description

Taste bud. Coloured scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of a taste bud (centre) from a tongue. This is part of a tongue structure called a fungiform papilla. These are round structures on the tongue surface, and are less numerous than the elongated filiform papillae (not seen). The tongue papillae are covered by the scaly squamous epithelial cells seen surrounding this central taste bud. The taste bud itself is a neuro-epithelial cell that reacts to chemicals in food, transmitting nerve impulses to the brain. These impulses are processed to form the sensation of taste. Magnification unknown.

About Steve Gschmeissner

Science Photo Library was founded in 1981 by Michael Marten, one of the authors of "Worlds Within Worlds", a book exploring different ways to observe the universe - from electron micrographs, to images of earthrise taken from the Apollo spacecraft. When Marten started receiving requests for the beautiful images in the book, he had an idea of setting up Science Photo Library. Since then, Science Photo Library has continued to work alongside world acclaimed photographers and the leading science and medical experts to provide a central source of the best science and specialist imagery available. Although the collection started with scientific images, it has grown to encompass all aspects of science and their impact on everyday life.
