Description
So many times I visit places I've been to before and remember my son as a child, and think of the many fond memories we shared when he was little. The first two figures in this painting are a younger me with my small son. The two figures further down the path are of my grown up son and my 83 year old mother. Time flies, children grow up, parents grow old ~ the time we share is precious.

A revisit to this most special scene in the forest. Hardly anything better than such walks. Beautifully depicted Anne. F/L.

Art is unquestionably one of the purest and highest elements in human happiness. It trains the mind through the eye, and the eye through the mind. As the sun colours flowers, so does art colour life. -- Congratulations on your recent sale

At first glance, my eyes are drawn to the contrasting colors 0 the compliments of purple and yellow just catch one's breath.. then you see feel the joy of the moment with different generations taking in the splendor of nature and becoming one with it. Oh how marvelous... a winning creation. F/L

This painting reminds me of some wonderful things...like that we are never alone, our memories of our loved ones, young and old, here and gone, keep us company. Also that life is not so linear, "the wrinkle in time" exists emotionally and nourishes us. Lastly, it brings to my mind that when I think about my loved ones who have passed away, I think so often of those things they loved to do. Seems like doing things you love to do is your legacy.

Beautiful colors, perspective and sentiment! Anne, your watercolours never fail to amaze me. What incredible skill you have! I particularly like the almost transparent nature of your young son and your mother...indeed showing the Circle of Life.
Anne Gifford replied:
Michael, thank you very much. I am always pleased when people are reached by the message in my transparent paintings!
