Description
Thumbs Up
Located next to St Castor Basilica.
Koblenz is often referred to as the German Corner for the reference to the confluence of the Rhine River and the Moselle River. This also is the sight of the monument erected in 1897 to the German Emperor Wilhelm I of Germany mounted on a 14-meter-high horse. You cannot miss it.
Besides being a beautiful city take the BUGA cable car, high above the Rhine, to the Ehrenbreitstein Fortress museum to view a state museum and enjoy a beautiful panorama of the valley. Spend a peaceful afternoon enjoying the views.
The ancient era of the city boasts of fortifications erected prior to 1,000 BC and the area was visited in 55 BC by troops commanded by Julius Caesar. We are talking some history here.
