I read about this image in Magnificat magazine and learned about Tissot's history and conversion to Christianity. Since I have been to the Holy Land, and lived in the Middle East I am well acquainted with camels and the landscape. I fell in love with this image and had to have it in my office. I love the colors and the darkness of the magi and the caravan - things we never contemplate when thinking about their journey to find Jesus. I like the fact that they are moving in the direction of the viewer. A different perspective entirely! I never tire of looking at this image.

The artist captured most faithfully, in a contemporary work, a deeply spiritual vision illuminating mercy with the divine grace of the renaissance.

This was a gift for my grandson graduating from Bucknell. I have not seen this photo personally, but he loved it and so did his parents. Hopefully I will see it sometime in his apartment in NYC.

About Natural History Museum, London

Science Photo Library was founded in 1981 by Michael Marten, one of the authors of "Worlds Within Worlds", a book exploring different ways to observe the universe - from electron micrographs, to images of earthrise taken from the Apollo spacecraft. When Marten started receiving requests for the beautiful images in the book, he had an idea of setting up Science Photo Library. Since then, Science Photo Library has continued to work alongside world acclaimed photographers and the leading science and medical experts to provide a central source of the best science and specialist imagery available. Although the collection started with scientific images, it has grown to encompass all aspects of science and their impact on everyday life.
