Here is my latest drawing of the Conway Scenic Railroad's steam locomotive number 7470, waiting for the conductor to set the switch so she can continue to the roundhouse after a day of work. This will be my final drawing done on printer paper...that is correct. All of my drawings up to this point have been done on printer paper but I have finally invested in some 96# 14x17 bristol paper which I will be using from now on. The heavy paper will be better because I do not use any type of blending tools to get the shading or smoothness, I just let the pencils do that work ranging from 2H to 8B. I could never get the sharpness and detail I wanted from blending. I did however blend to get the smoothness of the sky. As a result, I have to use hard pencil strokes to get the desired look which is not good for printer paper. It does not hold up well at all and it really shows. I am hoping to make my next drawing the most realistic so far and I feel that this was a good start. If you have any questions or would like a print, don't hesitate contacting me!
