Description
Girdle almanac. This 15th-century girdle almanac" was made from sheets of paper folded and sewn together in such a way as to allow it to hang conveniently on a thong from a monk's girdle. An almanac of this type, few samples of which have survived to the present day, would contain an annual calendar highlighting feast days, tax days, lunar tables and tables of eclipses."
