Wonderful image of a winter holiday scene. Better product than I expected, even though I had obviously seen the promotional images. Worth every penny. Right now decorating a wall over the headboard of a king bed used by a 93 year old, but would look great on any wall in the house. Super job.

Artist's Description

On December 17, 1903 at the secluded dunes of Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, mankind first took to the air in controlled, powered flight. Orville Wright piloted the machine he and his brother Wilbur designed and constructed for 12 second over a distance of 120 feet. Several more flights were made that day, the longest by Wilbur at 852 feet and lasting 59 seconds. From these first small steps the airplane was born. This print is a depiction of the iconic Wright Flyer in flight on that day. This work is copyright Mark Karvon.

There is something about a purpose of design and the engineering solution to achieve that purpose that always created a spark in my mind. The forms those machines took were captivating to me - the pointed nose of a fighter jet; the exposed driving wheels of a mighty steam engine, the streamlined shape of a submarine. And the stories of the incredible experiences of the men who operated those machines are the stuff of legends and sometimes nightmares. From an early age I tried to express my fascination through drawing. I suppose my first...
