This is a professional drawing of a 1934 Ford race car called "Old Glory". The drawing was created using markers, colored pencils, NuPastel chalks, and white gouache. Colors were created with chalks and blended or faded using only my finger tips (as with all of my artwork) with additional layers of applying either markers or colored pencils. The original drawing was created in an 18"x24" format.
My name is Paul Kuras and I am a professional freelance car designer/illustrationist. I often draw cars, but enjoy drawing anything in the transportation field. I was born and raised in Dover, Delaware. I have always had an interest in cars starting with Hot Wheels when I was a kid. That interest hasn't changed, only grown. I left Dover in 1994 to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at the Center For Creative Studies with a major in Industrial Design. While I was at the school, I was given many visual communication projects, especially in the transportation courses. I had a lot of fun learning about how the light hits a surface, or how to indicate �body roll�. I enjoyed creating these car illustrations that seemed to just jump...
