Babe Stoval, street musician played in the Park at Jackson Square (promenade), while the artists all along the parameter of the Square displayed, created and sold their ware. Mindy recalls stopping and listening to Babe who, although a brief period it was, mid seventies.. was known for his guttural hum and mumbling style of singing. What was especially effective was the echoing of those metal string chords, his melodic mumblings, hanging in the air on a sulltry afternoon that floated above toward the balconies, down and through the cobbled alley way, that cool and shady side of the St. Louis Cathedral on St. Peter's Street at the corner of Royal in the View Carrie.
