Abandoned mining town, Colorado, USA. View over the Abandoned mining town of Gilman, situated on Battle Mountain, Colorado, USA, in autumn. This town was founded in 1886 during the Colorado Silver Boom. It centred on the Eagle Mine, which operated until 1984, when it was closed due to toxic waste from the mine contaminating surrounding ground water.
