When will I get my order???
Van Cleef's first film role was the gunslinger, Jack Colby, out to kill Gary Cooper in "High Noon," 1952. Lee had no dialogue. When Sergio Leone was making his spaghetti Westerns he watched classic American Westerns for inspiration. Van Cleef caught his eye and was cast in 1965's "For a Few Dollars More." "Being born with a pair of beady eyes was the best thing that ever happened to

Movies are full of leading men, most of whom aren't working. It's much harder to find a good villain."...Lee Van Cleef (1925-1989)
Finally, here is the finale to "A Few Dollars More," with music by Ennio Morricone.

While at the U of A, I studied with the master black and white photo essayist W. Eugene Smith (1918-1978) the last year of his life. I am the last person cited in Jim Hughes' definitive biography of Gene, as I wrote about attending his final...
