The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back.   The wooden frame includes a hanging wire for easy mounting on your wall (see photo on the left).

"Tribute in Lights" as seen from the "Top of the Rock" (Rockefeller Center Observation Deck). You can imagine that it was CRAZY crowded on the deck that evening. I had to wait for awhile just to get some "space" at the edge of the rail. That's the Empire State Building in foreground, and the Brooklyn Bridge and the progressing WTC towers are in the distance with the lights that are only on for a few hours a year, from sunset on 9-11 to sunrise on 9-12.
