The engineer has dropped the last bit of ash over the ash pit before bringing the locomotive in for the day. The run from Antonito, CO to Chama, NM was a long one, and the engine needs some service before heading out again.
I applied an oil painting effect and multiple tones and layers to create the final image seen.
