Round Beach Towel Reviews (29)

Average Rating (5 Stars):

The beach towel is really just for laying on inasmuch as it is too big and heavy to put around your body, which is just fine. The artwork in it is beautiful. I can't wait to use it.

Wow - I didn't realise it was going to be that big! It's a gift for a young member of the family - I think he'll be thrilled as he's a tractor fanatic at 6 years old. A practical gift too. The towel has a smoother upper side so it'll be more comfortable to sit on at the beach. It seems to have a thick absorbent power so no usual skinny beach towel.

Artist's Description

On The Chisholm Trail. Ive always loved the western genre and when I decided that my 2016 entries in the Old West Art show would be about trail herds, I started researching. After the Civil War, untended herds in Texas multiplied quickly as Union blockades cut the state off from market outlets. four-dollar-per-head cattle in Texas could bring $40 to $50 apiece in eastern markets In 1866 Charles Goodnight and Oliver Loving blazed the first trail, known as the Goodnight-Loving trail northwest from Palo Pinto County, Texas, to Pope's Crossing in southeastern New Mexico, and on north to Fort Sumner and Fort Bascom. In 1867 the 600-mile Chisholm Trail (sometimes referred to as Chisium) initially developed by merchant Jesse Chisholm became the main trail, and it was used extensively until 1871. It ran north from San Antonio to Fort Worth, Texas, through Oklahoma and ended at Abilene, Kansas. Stock pens built in Abilene to hold cattle for shipment on the Kansas Pacific Railroad waited...

About Gail Daley

GAIL DALEY is a self-taught artist and writer with a background in business. An omnivorous reader, she was inspired by her son, also a writer, to finish some of the incomplete novels she had begun over the years. She is heavily involved in local art groups and fills her time reading, writing, painting in acrylics, and spending time with her husband of 40 plus years. Currently her family is owned by two cats, a mischievous kitten called Mab (after the fairy queen of air and darkness) and a Gray Princess named Moonstone. In the past, the family shared their home with many dogs, cats and a Guinea Pig, all of whom have passed over the rainbow bridge.
