Intriguing arrangements and patterns are left on the beach as the waves recede. Here we see seaweed left on the beach as the wave has receded. Intricate patterns are shown in the sand, representing the movement of water.
I am a nature and landscape photographer based in Madison, WI, with images from around the world. I am originally from Australia, but have lived in New Brunswick, Canada, and Socorro, New Mexico, before moving to Madison. I am trained as a geologist, and still teach introductory geology classes (need to pay the bills somehow).. The love of the outdoors has strongly influenced my photography, initially in Australia, but then in the the NW Territories of Canada (I was there doing geology), and the desert of New Mexico. This is from Australia, and the bubbles contain air; this allows the seaweed 'float' in the water, which lets it get its nutrients. Thanks for the comment, and vote.
