Everyone should experience this kind of power at least once! However, there is a strong case for comfort. :) Happy New Year, Susan!

FANTASTIC! My dad was a maintainer on F-105's in the early 1960s, and wore the blue "Thunderchief" patch on his fatigues. This was a birthday present for him, and the smile when he pulled it out of the box said I'd struck gold.

Artist's Description

The AC Cobra was a Ford powered beast of a sports car built by Carroll Shelby. I rode in a friend's candy apple red 1965 289 version. Basically it was a race car with no mufflers, heater, radio, etc...just a 165 mph brute. The noise and acceleration were unbelievable and defy description. Dayum, it was fun! :) A non-competition 427 roadster was converted and given to Shelby's close friend, entertainer Bill Cosby. Cosby attempted to drive the super-fast Cobra, but had issues with keeping it under control; he recounted his experience on his 1968 stand-up comedy album 200 M.P.H.. Cosby gave the car back to Shelby, who then shipped it out to one of their dealers in San Francisco, S&C Ford on Van Ness Avenue. S&C Ford then sold it to customer Tony Maxey. Maxey, suffering the same issues as Cosby did with the car, lost control and drove it off a cliff, landing in the Pacific Ocean waters.

I've also had the opportunity to teach about and lead tours to a variety of world destinations including backpacking through the Canadian Rockies, traveling above the Arctic Circle in Norway, into the Sahara in Morocco, and throughout Southeast Asia with a special focus on Thailand. It was my four tours to India that formed me most profoundly, both as a person and as a photographer. It is a magic land of extremes in every sense of the word. More recently I had the opportunity to expand my world view with travel to the Peruvian Andes, the back roads of West...
