Urine-derived stem cells, light micrograph. Chinese scientists have published a method to produce multipotent stem cells from human urine. Epithelial cells from the kidneys that pass out of the body with urine are used to produce the stem cells. These cells are capable of developing into any other cell type, and could potentially develop into whole organs.
