Calf roping, steer wrestling and bull riding are the true real three main popular western cowboy & cowgirl rodeo events in the real world in the right place of the real inside story of the rodeos of the American West.

Buck up! Popular in North America, rodeo is a sport that tests the skills of a cowboy and also a cowgirl, and dates back to the 19th century. Events include bull riding, steer wrestling, and calf roping. Some countries ban rodeo events.

What year was this painting called "South Texas Cowboy" painted, was it 2001 or 2008? Was this originally photographed in 1996 and then painted in 2001 or 2008 or what year? How many swings did it take the tie-down steer roper to lasso the steer, was it one or two or three or four or five swings to catch the horns? After he trips the steer, does he get of the left hand side and was the steer laying on the right or left hand side? Does he tie with his left hand or his right hand as if whatever side the steer is laying on? Does he tie up the legs with one or two or three wraps and a "hooey" (slang term for half hitch)? Does he do all of this in record time and is he fast at this event?

Type soon, hopefully and well, it was really nice meeting and great talking to you again and hopefully and really type soon and just say to me that I'll forever have best wishes and that I'll have real good luck on the real rodeo circuit at my both my rodeo calf roping and western artwork, Your best remembered forever friend as a western artist, avid singer and avid guitar player and rodeo calf roper William MacLeod (the true Canadian-American tie-down roper: King of the Ropers) :)

Diann Baggett replied:

Hi William, I really enjoyed your comments on my cowboy picture and all the things you have to say about roping. We live across the street from Pete Wright who has loved roping most of his life. He's in his 70's but still ropes alot.-, holds roping events on his ranch, and mc's events all around Texas. The cowboy in the painting lives here. I do a lot of artistic work for his wife and they gave me permission to use that photo. He's a world class roper. Pete says he's 15th in the world - amazing. Thanks for your comments and I know with the love and passion you have for roping you'll go far. Looking forward to seeing some of your art too. Thanks again, Diann Baggett.

excellent work diann

Amazing

Absolutely beautiful!

This particular scene is from a place very near my father’s house and the memorial bench for his late wife. He himself has taken many similar photographs of this beautiful spot. I love this piece. Having it printed on the wood gave this piece depth and character, like a painting. A little clarity was obscured by the wood grain but it’s beautiful.

I have always loved mermaids and artist Skoosh’s friendship series was one I immediately fell in love with. Treated myself to one on wood and I absolutely love it. The wood is substantial and works wonderfully with the colors on the print. Eventually it will go up on the wall of my craft room/office but for now it’s right next to my laptop where i can see it as I get through my day. Can’t wait for the rest of the series to be available.
