We absolutely love this expressive water color print on wood block by Ms Loya. It's a lovely addition to our collection in our home. I especially love the femininity and spiritual quality of this piece! Thanks so much.
I'm a Firefighter and have painted firefighters in action for close to 20 years. When I saw the World Trade Center on 9/11 I knew there were going to be a high number of fatalities, including firefighters. At the end of that horrible Tuesday, there were countless lives that would change forever. I know many New York firefighters, including my brother, that lost friends and co-workers that day. I attended the funerals of the firefighters I did know and many more I didn't. I had to paint something. I wanted it to be simple but powerful enough to make a lasting impression. I don't think I need to say anymore except, NEVER FORGET!
About Paul Walsh
My name is Paul Joseph Walsh and I was raised in Newington CT. I had an inherent artist interest and began painting at an early age. After serving 5 years, my love for firefighting transitioned to a career with the City of New Britain Fire Department (NBFD). I'm currently a Deputy Chief with NBFD and a third generation firefighter. I attended Central Connecticut State University for graphic arts and Hartford State Technical College for fire science.
I was inspired by a friend and New York City Firefighter/Artist John Goss to paint firefighters as my...
