Hi Reynold. Thank you very much. One from the heart again.

Debutante and the one with the gorillas are my all time favs, Nigel. I read the description with interest and must say I have not had a Pepsi in 5 decades! Well done. Beautiful as can be. FAV

wow every picture tells a story DONT it ? amazing work

Nigel Follett replied:

Hi Tina. You're right, I do try to tell stories in a lot of my art - sometimes though I'll just paint something like a Pony when I just want to remind myself that there are still lovely things in the world,

FEATURED on FAA Group; 'FAA Portrait Gallery'. Thank you!

FEATURED on FAA Group; 'Arts Fantastic World'. Thank you!

Such depth and meaning.....what all Art should really be about.....made me feel very sad and angry all at the same time. Brilliant. L/F

Nigel Follett replied:

Thank you so much Sarah. It's a nightmare of an artwork, but so is what is happening out there in the real world, so I guess it's my way of expressing the feelings that you picked up on. These paintings of mine generally aren't something people want to hang on their walls, but they aren't painted for that reason...

Thank you for featuring this painting on the FAA group, 'Wildlife ONE A DAY'.

Good cause... great montage... I love art with a message

Nigel Follett replied:

Thanks Chas. Every element in it is hand painted on a Wacom Intuos tablet; the mud texture was generated using a 'cloud' algorithm to give it that churned up 'random look'. Glad you like it!

.Thank you for participating in the ECO-contest.!your work is beautiful !

Nigel Follett replied:

Thank you very much Inna, So pleased you like it.

A spectacular piece of work!

Nigel Follett replied:

Thank you very much Kimmi!

Great work and comment Nigel, I try my hardest not buy products with palm oil [ or sugar ] in them, unfortunately they can get away with calling it simply vegetable oil [ at least here in Australia ], taking away the ability to make informed decisions from the consumer. Avoiding processed and fast food isn't just better for our health but also for the environment. All the best Nigel LF

Nigel Follett replied:

Thank you Carl. Yes, the food industry has become very stealthy in the ways they dupe us into buying their products. I'm glad the painting struck a chord with you - thank you.

Bravo Nigel! Your artwork is featured in Mutamea - My Change.

Nigel Follett replied:

Thank you for featuring my painting Sora! :-)

Neat painting.../Like /fav

Nigel Follett replied:

Thanks Ken. I do quite a few environmental ones - gets it off my chest...

Thank you for featuring this in 'Appreciating Works From All Mediums'.

Ditto, Nigel. as the insanity of corruption & corporate enterprise continue to ignore the possibilities of planetary deterioration and utter destruction of our planet grow, it's more and more paramount that artists and writers of every sort stand up together expose these greedy profiteers for their criminal activities against humanity. Protestant protesters should gather together with more information against the selfish board members, reveal their true concerns and make someone accountable by law. This action is the "in your face" type exposure needed to wake up the whole world and say "no more turning a blind eye for profit". Well done my friend... f/g+/fav

Nigel Follett replied:

Thank you again Gary. I'm painting a series of endangered animals at the moment - they are all ending up on here as stand-alones but they are all intended for a much bigger protest painting which is in progress.

Thank you for featuring this painting on 'Images That Excite You', John.

Congratulations on being featured in the Fine Art America Group "Images That Excite You!"

Many thanks Robert, the painting was designed to provoke exactly those thoughts, and to shame companies like PepsiCo.

This image is remarkable in many ways. It reflects mankind's mark upon the planet with the hope of renewed evolution of another species to redevelope a new earth. Awesome

Thank you for featuring this painting in 'Out of the Ordinary'.

Thank you for featuring this painting in 'WHAT question mark'.

And thank you for featuring this on 'Digital Works'.

Thanks Iris - it's a bit 'dark' this one!

Thank you Sorin.

Thank you Valerie

Average Rating (4.93 Stars):

The image looks wonderful on this bag showing much more detail than I expected. I would like a bit more depth to the bag. It feels a bit shallow compared to the width.

Artist's Description

This painting was designed for the 2014 global protest organised against PepsiCo by pressure groups Orangutan Outreach and Rainforest Action Network (RAN). Also used for Change.org petition run against PepsiCo by Y12 students at Gesamtschule Essen-Nord, Germany. Every day bulldozers drive deeper and deeper in the last stands of rainforest in Indonesia and Malaysia. Why? To meet the ever growing demand for Conflict Palm Oil which is used in potato chips, crackers and snack foods made by companies including PepsiCo. This painting parallels the war that companies like PepsiCo have declared on pristine environments and endangered species such as the Orang-utan, with what we now view as totally unacceptable - the unprecedented slaughter of the Great War. Will we look back in another hundred years and view the actions of companies like PepsiCo as barbarity, as we do the Great War? Will there be any rainforest left by then? Will we even be here; ourselves extinct for a packet of potato chi...

About Nigel Follett

Nigel's paintings mix traditional fine art techniques with digital formats and are a stunning array of original artworks, ranging from portraits and landscapes to more concept and surreal pieces. ''...some of his artworks are absolutely beautiful. Actually, there's a whole wealth of stuff, some with an uncomfortably acute resonance with some of the Big Concerns, both political and environmental...'' Prof. Paul (Oz) Hardwick. Professor of English, Leeds Trinity University, England. One of his works (Ragnar's Epitaph') was short-listed in 2014 for the Gallery of Top 100 works worldwide for the Lumen Exhibition Prize; this painting was displayed in the Lumen On-line Gallery for several months. The prize is described by 'The Guardian'...
