alpha-Linolenic acid. Molecular model of the omega-3 fatty acid known as alpha-linolenic acid (C18.H30.O2). This is found in vegetable oils and is used in a variety of food products including margarine, where it is one of the unsaturated fats. Atoms are represented as spheres and are colour-coded: carbon (grey), hydrogen (white) and oxygen (red).
