The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. The wooden frame includes a hanging wire for easy mounting on your wall (see photo on the left).

Artist's Description
Coloured scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of the neurocranium bone from a fish skull. Recovered from Kingfisher (Alcedo atthis) faeces. Bones and other indigestible material, such as eye lenses, from swallowed fish pass through the digestive system and are excreted in the faeces. Analysis of this material allows information on the kingfishers diet to be obtained. Magnification: x 40 when printed at 10cm wide.
