Description
April 5, 2004 - All five of the Great Lakes are visible in this satellite image. The snow has largely disappeared from the United States, south of the Lakes, but lingers in Canada to the north. The inlets of Lake Superior in the north appear to be covered with a smooth white layer of ice. Below it Lake Michigan, left, and Lake Huron, right, are clear. Swirls of tan and green sediment cloud Lake Erie, probably as a result of spring run-off. The easternmost lake is Lake Ontario.
