Description

Our greeting cards are 5" x 7" in size and are produced on digital offset printers using 100 lb. paper stock. Each card is coated with a UV protectant on the outside surface which produces a semi-gloss finish. The inside of each card has a matte white finish and can be customized with your own message up to 500 characters in length. Each card comes with a white envelope for mailing or gift giving.

Artist's Description

Electronic ink. Coloured scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of electronic ink (E ink). Electronic Ink is a paperlike display used primarily in eBook readers. E Ink technology works by using tiny microcapsules (purple)that are suspended in liquid placed within a film-like layer (blue). The microcapsules, which are about the same width as human hair, contain both positively charged white particles and negatively charged black particles. Applying a negative electrical field causes the white particles to come to the surface. Conversely, applying a positive electrical field causes the black particles to come to the surface. By applying different fields at various parts of a screen, E Ink can produce a text display. Magnification: x2000 when printed at 10 centimetres wide.
