Artist's Description
I was fortunate enough to see and photograph the Chapel of Bones (Capela dos Ossos) in Campo Maior, Portugal. According to www.Thrifter.com, on September 16, 1732 there was a tragic event in Campo Maior, a gunpowder magazine exploded after being struck by lightening, killing 1,500 people and destroying 823 houses. The Chapel of Bones (Capela dos Ossos) was built in 1766 entirely lined with the bones of the victims. It is the second largest Portuguese chapel of bones, after Church of St. Francis of Evora.

My photography involves paths of various themes: a gloomier, occasionally frightening realm of hidden dreams and past remembrances, sentimental playgrounds of childhood memories and a desire to explore the various spiritual offerings people have for their loved ones.
