Description
A-2 rocket, labelled diagram. The A-2 rocket was designed in 1934 by Wernher von Braun while working for the German military at Kummersdorf, Germany. The final versions were launched in December 1934, reaching heights of several kilometres. The A-2 was the second in the Aggregate series of rockets, developed from 1933 to 1945. This research program culminated in the A-4 rocket, more commonly known as the V-2, which was used in World War II. For a view of the interior of the A-2, see S200/180.
