Description
A-2 rocket test. A-2 rocket engine undergoing static firing at test stand number 1, Kummersdorf, Germany. The A-2 was designed in 1934 by Wernher von Braun while working for the German military. The final versions were launched in December 1934, reaching heights of several kilometres. The A-2 was the second in the Aggregate series of rockets, developed from 1933 to 1945. This research program culminated in the A-4 rocket, more commonly known as the V-2, which was used in World War II.
